Job Description
The Butler County Educational Service Center (BCESC) is seeking a creative and skilled Videographer and Editor to join our team as a contractor on an as-needed basis. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with our agency and local school districts to craft compelling videos that tell the stories of the students, educators, and programs that make our community exceptional. This role may evolve into a full-time position in the near future, making it an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with a passion for storytelling through video.
In this role, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality video content and transforming it into engaging visual stories. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in video production, editing, and post-production, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling through film.
Requirements
- Proven experience in videography and video editing, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
- Ability to operate and manage video production equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio recording devices.
- Strong storytelling skills, with an ability to create engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and video optimization for different platforms is a plus.
- Availability to work on an as-needed basis, with flexibility to accommodate the project schedules of BCESC and partner school districts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with BCESC staff and local school districts to conceptualize, shoot, and edit high-quality video content that aligns with organizational goals and messaging.
- Produce a variety of videos, including promotional materials, event coverage, student and staff highlights, program showcases, and social media content.
- Handle all aspects of video production, including planning, scripting, filming, editing, and post-production.
- Maintain and manage video equipment, ensuring readiness for all projects.
- Incorporate graphics, music, and other elements into videos to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
- Work closely with school communication teams to ensure videos meet branding guidelines and effectively communicate key messages.
- Deliver videos optimized for various platforms, including websites, social media, and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in education or nonprofit settings.
- Graphic design and motion graphics skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with school district communications and storytelling techniques is an advantage.
