Job Description

Vermont Afterschool (VTA) is seeking proposals for digital video production services to create a ~10-minute scripted instructional video that highlights key components of quality afterschool programs. The video will be filmed at 4-5 Vermont locations, featuring interviews with program directors, voiceovers, B-roll footage, and stock background music as needed. VTA will manage the project, scheduling interviews and locations, while the videographer will supply all equipment and handle filming, editing, and final production.

Responsibilities

The videographer will be responsible for:

  • Providing pre-production technical advice on video development.
  • Setting up shots for optimal sound, lighting, and video.
  • Filming approximately five interviews at 3-4 afterschool programs and the VTA office over 4-5 specific days.
  • Editing and organizing final audio and video clips, including digital manipulation (e.g., title cards, logos, closed captioning).
  • Delivering a first rough cut by an agreed deadline and accommodating at least three rounds of edits.
  • Providing VTA with digital files of the finished video and raw footage.
  • Assigning all present and future rights to materials produced during the project to VTA.

Proposals must include:

  • A brief bio or overview of the company/business.
  • Samples of work relevant to this project and references from previous clients.
  • A discussion of experience with similar projects.
  • A list of capabilities, assets, and resources available for the project.
  • Indication of any parts of the project that will be subcontracted.
  • An itemized and total cost for specified services.
