Job Description

The TEGNA Design Tank in Denver, Colorado is seeking a talented Motion Graphic Designer with strong 3D skills to join its internal creative department. This role involves creating complex animated graphics, infographics, kinetic typography, and video pre & post-production. The designer will work collaboratively with a team of artists and designers to support all TEGNA television stations, while closely coordinating with the Creative Director, Design Director, and Production Coordinators. The position allows for continuous feedback during project execution.

This position can be located at any TEGNA station, with preference given to candidates in Denver, CO. The application deadline for this position is March 15, 2025.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Formal training in design/art, preferably in motion at trade school or college. Applications from individuals not trained in design will not be considered.
• Strong 3-D skills are essential, as this role will involve numerous 3-D projects.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Broadcast experience is desired.
• 2-4 years of experience as a motion graphic designer in a professional graphic design setting is preferred, but recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Proficient execution of Adobe products, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, as well as Cinema 4D and Premiere Pro is preferred; any Chyron experience is a plus.
• Excellent design and animation skills; experience as both an editor and designer is highly regarded.
• A professional portfolio demonstrating compelling and aspirational designs is required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Able to perform under tight deadlines and react to change effectively.
• Strong spelling and grammar skills are necessary.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.

Pay Range

$22—$26 USD
