Freelance Digital & Motion Graphics Designer Role - Outside IR35 - 4 Months

Our client is seeking a talented Digital & Motion Graphics Designer for a 4-month contract, Outside IR35. This role requires two days in Watford and three days working from home each week. Ideal candidates will have experience in the retail or fashion industry, either in-house or via agency.

As a Digital & Motion Graphics Designer, you will support the production of best-in-class digital creative content for a growing retail brand. Reporting to the Manager of Film and Motion, you will work closely with the content creation team to bring digital storytelling to life through visually compelling content, especially across email marketing and social media platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Animate: Create static and motion assets for email campaigns, paid and organic social media, and digital ads.
• Motion Graphics & Video Editing: Edit short-form and long-form video content for marketing use, including reels, stories, and YouTube videos. Bring visuals to life with smooth transitions, animated type, UI simulations, and lightweight video edits.
• Email Marketing Design: Develop eye-catching, on-brand email templates and graphics that align with marketing goals and boost engagement.
• Social Media Content Creation: Design social-first visuals, stories, reels, and animations optimized for each platform (IG, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with e-commerce, marketing, art directors, and copywriters to ensure cohesive and high-performing content.
• Maintain Brand Consistency: Uphold brand guidelines while pushing creative boundaries across digital touchpoints.
• Stay Ahead: Keep a pulse on design trends, platform specs, and emerging motion techniques to keep content fresh and engaging.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in digital design, motion graphics, and video editing.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
• Strong creative flair and passion for design, social & digital communication.
• Solid understanding of social media content formats and platform specs.
• Demonstrated ability to edit compelling video content.
• Familiarity with email design best practices.
• Ability to take feedback, iterate quickly, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Great team player with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
• A positive, creative, and influential personality.

Desired Skills

• Experience working with task management tools like Microsoft Word, Excel, Trello, Google Docs, etc.
• Experience with tools like Figma, XD, or similar for layout and wireframing.
• Content creation: concepting, filming, and editing own content.
