Book Editing
I am seeking a skilled editor to collaborate on my personal collection of short stories. There are 20 works written over the past two decades, and I hope to narrow these down to the 6-10 strongest pieces for a final manuscript. About half of these stories have previously been accepted by competitive online e-zines. The work is divided into two phases. In Phase 1, I need developmental editing: reading and reviewing the completed stories and providing recommendations to help me select those best suited for inclusion, with attention to theme and tone. In Phase 2, the chosen stories will require thorough copy-editing to prepare them for publication. I am looking for someone with a strong editing background, experience with short stories across multiple genres, and sensitivity to emotional content and diverse points of view. You should be comfortable working within different writing styles, including omniscient narration. I value a collaborative approach to enhance the quality of these works.
