Khmer-English fixer/translator Cambodia
Film Fixer is needed in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
I am currently in Cambodia working on a small independent documentary called “El Viaje Invisible”, focused on capturing human stories relating to memory, resilience, and life transitions across Asia. I am seeking a Khmer-English speaking fixer or translator who can accompany me to rural villages near Phnom Penh or Kampot, assist in identifying locals—ideally 50+ years old—willing to share personal stories, especially from the Khmer Rouge era, and translate during informal interviews. The role also includes helping with simple logistics, such as transport and meals. This is an intimate, non-commercial project with a solo filmmaker using small equipment, aiming for respectful and genuine engagement with the communities. Flexible dates are available, and transport and food expenses will be covered in addition to payment.
