Co-Writer is needed in Wichita, United States.

I have a musical comedy titled “Florida Man.” that I have been working on for the past (almost) three years. It’s family friendly, so the concept is tweaked from “Florida Man Commits Crime In Bizarre Manner” to “Florida Man Sucks At Being A Superhero” and i tried to keep it suitable for any production level, from high school to off-Broadway. It has a run time (without the music) of 55 minutes, and I expect the musical numbers to extend that to 1 1/2 hours or shorter. The cliffnotes about the plot are as follows (which take place over the course of a year) Florida Man is a somewhat inept but earnest single father whose only child is coming back from medical school and he feels he must make up for all the time he couldn’t spend with her during her childhood. Superduperman (the city’s “official” superhero) is 4 seconds from snapping, the cop (who moonlights as Superduperman) falls in love with Florida Man’s daughter, the mayor (totally not the villain) and his loyal executive assistant (Karen Kommando) want to frame Florida Man, and take over the entire state. The daughters BFF knows everybody and uses her position to make things easier for EVERYBODY, as the town festival is coming up and will surely end in chaos. The whole she-bang is narrated by 4th wall smashing barbershop quartet (called the Dads) who engage with the audience, carry on a running commentary, heckle the cast, and occasionally tell terrible Dad jokes.

There are 12 full length musical numbers in this thing, I have melodies for almost half of them, but…I am a much better writer than composer. I’m looking for someone(s) who can work with the melodies I have already as well as making some new ones. Preferably with experience writing for BB quartet, and preferably as close to the middle of the US (I’m in Kansas) as I expect there will be a bit of “on-site” work at some point. (I have no clue what I’m doing)

Budget range:
Receive offers - please note that this has been a passion project of mine, and I’ve so far funded everything myself. Payment plans will have to be flexible.

Examples: The links didn’t work the first time I posted this, so here are some “clips” from the script.

SUPERDUPERMAN: I mean, you can teach a chimpanzee how to juggle chainsaws. That’s entertaining. It stops being entertaining when you set it loose in the shopping mall.
CAINE: ……………safe entertainment.
FLORIDA MAN: It’s always safe if you’re not involved!
SUPERDUPERMAN: That’s the problem. You keep getting involved.

DAD3: (to small child) Can I have some popcorn?
DAD2: Oh my god, really?
DAD4: Relax it’s just a joke
DAD3: This whole show is a joke.
DAD2: So’s your entire career.
DAD1 & 4: Oooooooooh…
DAD1: There goes our running joke… (he grins widely and somewhat smugly down the line)
(full 4 seconds silence)
DAD2: That was terrible.
DAD4: …………Respect! (Fistbumps as they begin to file offstage)
DAD1: (swagger) And that’s why they call me “Big Daddy D.”
DAD3: Yeah, literally no one calls you that, Doug….

About the client
I go by Indi, and consider myself a writer. Strangely, my music theater experience is with costuming/arranging, but I’m determined to get this thing to a stage
