We are seeking an actress for a musical production called Merrier Poppins, a parody of Mary Poppins, to be performed on September 20th at Festival Place in Sherwood Park. This is an urgent, short-term engagement as our lead has had a family emergency and cannot perform. The successful candidate will play the lead character, Merrier Poppins. You will be required to quickly learn the script and deliver several lines in between chorus songs, alongside another lead character. The chorus is a group of 30 amateur women based in Edmonton who perform barbershop and a cappella music. The actress must be available for an in-person tech rehearsal on September 20th at 3pm and ideally be able to join one practice with the chorus or the other lead prior to the show. The script must be memorized within two weeks. You must be available on-site for the full project.
