Job Description

Join our team as a drafter, where you will play a crucial role in developing detailed part and assembly drawings for mechanical equipment. As we prepare for the retirement of a valued team member, we are eager to bring on a new drafter who can seamlessly integrate into our small team.

Responsibilities

• Spend 90% of the workday at a CAD station developing detail part and assembly drawings for mechanical equipment, including drying equipment, conveyors, air filtration, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Interpret existing prints, locate and modify existing drawings, and release them for production.
• Provide engineering support for the sales team and create installation drawings.
• Specify and locate individual components.
• Occasionally travel to customer sites to take measurements (once permanent).
• Perform filing and data entry of engineering documentation.

Requirements

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (75% of the time) and Inventor (25% of the time).
• Experience in creating part drawings, assembly drawings, and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with steel fabrication drawings, particularly those 1/4 inch or thicker.
• Ability to use a tape measure accurately to check part dimensions.
• Detail-oriented and willing to assist in various tasks as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience with Inventor.
• Associate’s degree in drafting or equivalent.
• Experience working in a fabrication environment.
