Job Description

Halogen Engineering Group is looking for a Cloud Software Engineer with 12+ years of experience in developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex Big-Data Cloud systems based on documented requirements. Responsibilities include back-end processing, analyzing, and indexing. The candidate should have expertise in Cloud Computing, the Hadoop Ecosystem, Java applications, Distributed Computing, Information Retrieval (IR), and Object-Oriented Design. The role involves collaboration within a team or independently, software component testing, and problem resolution. The candidate will provide insights on system design, including hardware/software trade-offs and requirements analysis.

Salary Range: Projected compensation is $213K-$256K annually, influenced by various factors including location, experience, and education.

Requirements

Capabilities:

• Senior-level skills in DevOps, particularly in cloud solutions and administration
• Ability to design and implement cloud-based solutions; maintain and secure Linux-based operating systems
• Experience in data flow management using NiFi
• Strong communication and leadership skills, self-motivated, with problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of Agile processes and workflows

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Microsoft Azure
• Knowledge in containerization (Dockers, Kubernetes)
• Capable of troubleshooting and resolving complex issues
• Good communication skills for collaboration with teams

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum)
• Experience with Elastic stack solutioning
• Knowledge of NiFi management
• Experience with Ansible scripting

Additional Requirements:

• Twelve (12) years of software engineering experience required, with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline (four (4) years of experience may substitute for a degree)
• Master’s degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience
• Certification such as Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer may substitute for one (1) year of experience

Cloud-related experience required includes:

• Two (2) years of Cloud and/or Distributed Computing IR
• Various experiences implementing Cloud-specific solutions (Big Table, Distributed File System, MapReduce analytics, etc.)
• Experience in managing multi-node Cloud installations and debugging related problems
