Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated WordPress Developer to bring polished Figma designs to life on a fast-moving project. This is a 2-week contract to start with the potential for ongoing work based on performance. If you thrive on precision, deadlines, and creative builds, we’d love to hear from you. This role requires availability during business hours (M–F) for Google Meet check-ins and progress reviews. For the right person, this opportunity may lead to a long-term contract role.

Requirements

• Proficiency in WordPress development with a strong understanding of the WordPress ecosystem.
• Experience with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SCSS, and jQuery.
• Familiarity with back-end technologies such as PHP, Python, Ruby on Rails, or ASP.NET.
• Knowledge of database management systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Understanding of web services (RESTful API, SOAP) and data formats (JSON, XML).
• Experience with hosting setups and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices using tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Understanding of system architecture principles and DevOps practices.
• Ability to follow wireframes and user flows to guide the design process.
• Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on data visualization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proven ability to follow Figma designs exactly, including typography, spacing, button styles, and responsive layouts.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines is a must.
• Collaborate with designers to create responsive web designs that enhance user experience.
• Experience with animations, transitions, and advanced UI elements (e.g., background transitions on scroll, horizontal scrolling).
• Utilize version control systems such as Git and SVN for code management.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance website functionality.
• Implement SEO best practices to improve website visibility and performance.
• Conduct unit testing and debugging to ensure high-quality code delivery.
• Work with MySQL or PostgreSQL databases for data management and retrieval.
• Stay updated with the latest web development trends, tools, and technologies.
