Job Description

Neal R. Gross & Co. (NRGCO) is a Washington, DC based Court Reporting and Transcription company, providing verbatim court reporting and transcription services for over 45 years to a wide range of government and private clients. We are seeking legal transcribers for EOIR-related work, including trials, administrative hearings, historical and investigational interviews, and meetings. This is a WORK FROM HOME position requiring legal transcription experience, particularly with EOIR work.

Timeliness and excellent English language skills are essential. Candidates must be able to transcribe at least 3 hours of audio per week. Audio, notes, and a format will be provided via FTP, and the transcriber must accurately and timely transcribe the content in accordance with the given format, submitting a completed verbatim transcript.

Requirements

  • Excellent command of English language
  • EOIR Experience is required
  • Must transcribe at least 3 hours of audio per week
  • Accurate grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • High-speed internet connection
  • Internet research skills
  • Proofreading of all work before submission
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Required software/hardware:
  • WordPerfect and/or MSWord
  • Windows Operating System
  • FTR Player (free download)
  • ExpressScribe (free download)
  • FileZilla (free download)
  • OPTIONAL - USB foot pedal (Infinity is a popular model)
  • AAERT certification is a plus
  • Must type at least 60 WPM

Additional Information

Transcribers are compensated by the page at highly competitive rates and all NRGCO transcribers are independent (1099) subcontractors, paid biweekly for all promptly submitted invoices. Interested candidates should submit their resumes for review.
