Job Description

As a Freelance Local Producer for Sofar Sounds, you will curate, produce, and promote concerts and other live events to build a strong and vibrant community in your city. You will be a true ambassador for Sofar, mapping out your city’s strategy while producing exceptional events, executing local marketing initiatives, selling local sponsorships, and expanding Sofar’s footprint.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen Sofar’s brand in your local community through self-directed marketing tactics.
• Create and execute your city’s strategy regarding the number of monthly shows, themes, and venues.
• Lead the curation and booking of diverse experiences with high-quality artists and venues.
• Ensure staffing and quality of shows, delivering exceptional experiences rooted in hospitality.
• Manage financial performance and health of events in your city.
• Build relationships with local businesses to drive sponsorship sales and private events.
• Identify and engage with local organizations to broaden reach and co-promote events.
• Collaborate with local leaders to create buzz and amplify Sofar’s brand awareness.
• Support business partnerships and global communities team to ensure high-quality event operations.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in live event curation, production, and promotions.
• Experience selling event sponsorships or marketing activations in live events or experiential marketing.
• Ability to pitch ideas and concepts confidently to sponsors with a track record of closing deals.
• Strong understanding of local culture, neighborhoods, and audience engagement.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills with diverse organizations, media partners, and local businesses.
• Professionalism and ownership in curating experiences for artists, venues, partners, and guests.
• Outstanding time management skills and clear communication abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously while remaining connected to the broader organization.

Additional Information

The role is hybrid, but candidates must be based in Miami. This position allows for a flexible schedule, generally requiring activities during weekends and evenings. Compensation is commission-based, ranging from $100 to $5,000 a month depending on ticket prices, show volume, and event performance, typically from $100 to $500+ per event.
