Job Description

Jazz Club, a renowned venue for live jazz performances in Florida, is seeking a skilled and passionate Sound Engineer to join our team. As a Sound Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional audio experience for both our musicians and patrons. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a love for live music.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment, including microphones, mixers, amplifiers, and speakers, for daily live jazz performances.
  • Ensure optimal sound quality during shows by monitoring and adjusting audio levels, equalization, and effects in real time.
  • Collaborate closely with musicians to meet their sound requirements and preferences.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues promptly to minimize disruptions during performances.
  • Perform regular maintenance and testing of audio equipment to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of special events and live recordings as needed.
  • Work with the management team to enhance the overall audio experience for our guests.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sound Engineer, preferably in live performance settings.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining professional audio equipment.
  • Strong understanding of acoustics, signal flow, and sound mixing techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the performance schedule.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with jazz or other live music genres.
  • Familiarity with sound recording and editing software.
  • Knowledge of lighting and stage setup is a plus.
