Job Description

We’re looking for an Art Director/Senior Designer to join our growing New York team – a strategic, creatively-led role that sits at the heart of our brand’s visual identity in the US. As Senior Designer, you’ll be responsible for leading creative execution across campaigns, launches, and retail activations, ensuring every piece of content – from digital to in-store – looks and feels unmistakably Tangle Teezer. You’ll bring strong art direction skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to translate brand strategy into design that performs.

In this role you’ll get to:

• Lead creative concepting and execution of photo and video shoots from initial creative ideation to final delivery, including set design, casting input, styling direction, and visual storytelling.
• Collaborate with the Global brand team on creative briefs to align with brand strategy and campaign objectives across new product launches and evergreen campaigns.
• Own art direction alongside the Head of Creative to deliver creative assets globally across campaign, trade, social, digital, and retail touchpoints.
• Serve as the local contact for the US market to ensure brand consistency across all US-facing design output, aligned with our global visual identity.
• Work with our Social team on developing unique content that aligns with brand strategy and company objectives.
• Brief and manage freelance designers or agencies when needed.
• Collaborate with photographers, videographers, stylists, makeup artists, and talent for shoots in the US and UK.
• Manage and mentor junior designers, offering feedback and guidance to support team growth and executional excellence.

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in design, with strong in-house brand experience in beauty/hair/personal care/CPG.
• Proven ability to lead projects from concept to delivery with minimal oversight.
• Strong art direction skills and excellent knowledge of typography, layout, and visual storytelling.
• Experience designing across multiple channels: print, digital, social, retail, and packaging.
• Confident using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), plus Figma and After Effects.
• A portfolio that demonstrates creative flair, brand thinking, and high attention to detail.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organised, self-driven, and excited to grow with a global brand.
• Must be able to travel.
