Halogen Engineering Group is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team.

Location: Columbia, MD

Travel Required: No

Shift: Day

Remote Type: Onsite

The projected compensation range for this position is 172K to 207K (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, GIT, and Linux.
• Support the development life cycle of platform architectural design, deployment, and debugging.
• Build a release pipeline for fast and safe delivery of critical business software to Production.
• Develop & Maintain sound version control best practices-based CM systems (GIT), including branching and merging strategies.
• Serve as a technical lead for an Agile team and participate in all Agile ceremonies.
• Automate release deployments across various environments using scripting languages and automation toolkits.
• Set up new sites and applications via configuration management such as Puppet and Ansible.
• Maintain/upgrade/patch tracking and documentation software (Confluence/Jira).
• Analyze service stack and make recommendations for further improvements.
• Leverage programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Perl, and Java.
• Proficient with DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering methodologies.
• Understanding of SLA requirements and high availability architectures, performance optimization, and monitoring techniques.
• Set up and configure a continuous integration environment leveraging Configuration Management, containerization, serverless technologies, and Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Linux environments (RHEL 617/8, RHCSNRHCE CentOS).
• 10+ years working in an Agile dev environment.
• Experience with caching technologies (Memcache, Active MQ, Redis, APC, etc.).
• Experience with MySQL and Elasticsearch. Knowledge of security practices, networking protocols, firewalls, and PCI compliance.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Clear and precise verbal and written communication skills.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, or 14 years of relevant experience.
