Job Description

This role involves providing instrumental support for the music department during performances and classroom activities. It is an on-call position requiring travel to multiple campuses and availability for evening hours.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• 1 year of experience performing professional-quality live music

Knowledge of:

• Music or other performance art experience
• Proficiency in multiple musical genres
• Proficiency on multiple instruments

Skills:

• Performing with a high degree of accuracy
• Promoting cooperative behavior and team efforts
• Delivering a high level of customer service

Ability to:

• Sight read sheet music at a proficient level
• Maintain effective working relationships
• Interact positively with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public

Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:

• Requires travel between campus locations

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Collegiate experience performance and music education preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

• Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 pounds
• Reach and grasp objects
• Stand for extended periods of time
• Use of video display terminal
• Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills
• Communicate information orally and in writing
• Receive and understand information through oral and written communication
• Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions
• Operate a motor vehicle
• Work a fluctuating work schedule
