Job Description

We are looking for a highly talented Staff Software Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. Your responsibilities include:

• Own the technical agenda and drive complex technical initiatives within your domain.
• Be a go-to person for your engineering community with deep tech expertise.
• Set standards for engineering excellence and lead engineers by example.
• Coach and mentor other engineers as a senior member of our Backend chapter.
• Play a major role in architectural decision-making on a platform used by millions.
• Design, improve, and secure the overall backend architecture for massive user and product growth.
• Support teams in infrastructure management in a cloud environment.
• Embrace Design Driven Development, SOLID Principles, Event-driven Architecture, Algorithms, and automated tests.
• Understand the development lifecycle and collaborate with cross-functional and agile teams.
• Participate in the continuous effort of test coverage, refactoring, and documentation.
• Display code review, debugging, and investigation skills regularly.

Requirements

What you need to be successful:

• More than 8 years of experience in several programming languages such as GoLang, RoR, Java, Python, NodeJs, PHP, and .NET Core.
• Presence as a tech evangelist in the local technical scene (meetups, LinkedIn, Stack Overflow).
• Strong experience with observability tools like Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, etc.
• Experience building complex, high-quality applications with knowledge of Domain Driven Design and microservice architecture.
• Expertise in selecting best practice Design Patterns and Design Principles for Software Architectures and Algorithms.
• Strong knowledge of several databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL) and their tradeoffs.
• Flexible and open-minded personality, comfortable working with multiple teams.
• Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, AWS, and Terraform.
