About The Project: Join an exciting project as the illustrator for a faith-driven children’s picture book series for ages 3–6. The first two stories are fully drafted, each around 26 pages, and ready for an illustrator to bring them to life with vibrant, whimsical, and expressive art. This project is the beginning of a much larger vision for a multi-book series, with strong potential for long-term collaboration if the fit is right.
Project Stage: The project is in the pilot phase. Two manuscripts are complete, and I am looking to test the book concepts with a small pilot. I need an illustrator to bring these manuscripts to life. Character reference artwork is completed for the illustrator’s reference. These two books will serve as pilots to test the market response to the book concept.
What We’re Looking For: A Christian illustrator based in Singapore who desires to use his or her gifts to further the Kingdom and create content that impacts children and families. Someone with creativity, consistency, and attention to detail, even if you are just starting out. A portfolio of previous work is preferred but not required — instead, you will be provided with character reference artwork and asked to create a short sample scene to demonstrate your style and fit. Openness to feedback, good communication, and an interest in possible ongoing collaboration.
Style References: Pixar-inspired, warm, whimsical, child-friendly. Pastel tones, soft lighting, expressive faces, rounded proportions. A sense of wonder and emotional resonance.
Project Scope: Two pilot books (each ~30–32 pages).
Budget: Open — please submit offers (flat fee or royalty split considered).
Work Type: Two-book pilot with potential for long-term collaboration.
Capacity: Personal, independently published project.
Timeline: Flexible — aiming to complete the pilot in 2025.
Experience Level: Open to junior illustrators or emerging artists with strong creativity and willingness to learn.
