Job Description

This position reports directly to the Outreach & Creative Manager under the Marketing, Merchandising, & Analytics Department. The Photographer & Videographer plays a vital role in capturing and creating captivating visual content that brings our brand’s story to life. This dual-role position requires a skilled professional who excels in both videography and photography with a keen eye for detail and an aptitude for storytelling. The role requires a passion for producing high-quality videos and images that resonate with our target audience, align with our brand’s vision, and contribute to the overall success of our marketing campaigns. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams for various projects, from commercials to educational content.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality video content that effectively inspires customers and communicates our brand’s message across various channels.
• Conceptualize and execute creative video ideas, from storyboarding and scripting to filming and post-production editing.
• Schedule shoots to capture photographs and videos that showcase products, services, and brand essence while adhering to established guidelines.
• Set up, operate, organize, and maintain video and photography production equipment.
• Get and approve in-budget quotes from vendors for equipment rentals as needed.
• Coordinate video requests and projects from outside vendors and agencies.
• Execute pricing evaluations on asset licensing platforms.
• Maintain an organized digital library of video and photo assets.
• Manage YouTube account and education video library.
• Create and edit PowerPoints for company leadership.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Team to align visual content with campaign goals.
• Stay current with industry trends and evolving technologies in videography and photography.
• Attend Marketing Team meetings and creative brainstorming sessions.
• Collaborate with graphic designers, copywriters, and other team members to ensure visual consistency.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.

Requirements & Qualifications

• This position requires 45 - 50 hours/week in the Memphis office and may require some weekend and evening availability.
• Strong portfolio showcasing videography and photography skills, including a range of projects and styles.
• Ability to manage projects from pre-production planning to final editing.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and interpret creative briefs.
• Professional portfolio or reel required for consideration.

Education & Experience

• 3+ years experience in photography & videography.
• Experience with Adobe software including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
• Experience in designing graphics and animations.

Preferred Experience

• Fundamental knowledge of the pet industry, pet nutrition, and retail operations.
• Experience with a Digital Asset Management platform.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.
• Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer in an office setting.
