Job Description

The City of Chandler Communications and Affairs Department is seeking qualified individuals for the role of Digital Content Creator (Part-Time, Temporary, Non-Benefited). This role is at the discretion of the department director, with a work schedule of 19 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Current City of Chandler employees can only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary roles within the city.

This position is part of the Public Information Division, which includes Public Information Officers (PIOs) and digital content staff. The role involves creating and managing content for the City of Chandler’s social media platforms and website, with responsibilities such as photographing, graphic designing, filming, and editing video content, as well as engaging with the public through comments and inquiries.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications for the Digital Content Creator position include:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communications, Digital Media or a related field.
• Three years of experience in marketing or communications, particularly with a focus on social media.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge and abilities to perform the work.

All hires will be required to undergo fingerprinting with successful results as a condition for continued employment.
