The Role: Software Engineer (Front-End)

As a Software Engineer (Front-End) at Switch, you will be part of a world-class team that operates in excellence, delivering mission-critical solutions that redefine what’s possible in AI, cloud and enterprise data center needs. Your work will directly impact the future of technology and the sustainable growth of the Internet.

In this role you will be responsible for building and maintaining modern, responsive web applications using Next.js. You will collaborate closely with designers, back-end developers, and product managers to deliver high-quality user experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Develop new user-facing features using Next.js and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
• Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Implement and promote AI-assisted coding tools to streamline frontend workflows, accelerate delivery, and improve code robustness.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Maintain and improve website performance and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team best practices.
• Drive next-level innovation in Product Development to support our mission-critical infrastructure.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-impact environment where execution is key.

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years of professional experience in front-end development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
• Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles.
• Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Redux or Context API).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools (Webpack, Vite, etc.).
• Experience with TypeScript.
• Ability to influence and partner with executive leadership.
• Experience fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• A strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term vision with operational execution.
