Job Description

Urgent requirement for a Software Engineer on a contract basis in Sydney. The role requires expertise in Smallworld products and involves providing GIS solutions, as well as the analysis, design, coding, implementation, and testing of GE Smallworld products using Magik software. The position has a duration of 12 months with a possible extension.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with Smallworld PNI, Core SW4, SW5, EO, GDO, GTO, GSS, GSA, DM, MES, NRM, K8.
  • 5+ years of experience with Magik, Java, VMDS & Oracle Database.
  • Strong in providing GIS solutions using the Smallworld suite of products.
  • Hands-on and development experience in Magik programming.
  • System configuration and hands-on experience with the installation of Smallworld suite of products.
  • Must have experience in picking up and installing fixes on live customer systems.
  • Proven track record of problem analysis, identification, and resolution of critical incidents.
  • Strong troubleshooting & debugging skills.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and MS Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented programming techniques, Oracle, and/or system administration; FME is a plus.
