Job Description

The Company Rescue is a full-service marketing agency with a mission to make healthy behaviors easier and more appealing. Since our founding in 2001, Rescue has focused on researching, developing, and implementing positive social change campaigns in public health. We provide research, strategy, creative, production, web, traditional media, social media, policy change, youth engagement, and experiential marketing services to government, non-profit, and healthcare clients across over 35 states and provinces, including federal government agencies.

We are looking for a dynamic, high-performing Freelance Web Developer II who will lead the development and delivery of complex and accessible web applications that meet client expectations. This remote position requires adherence to best practices and involves a blend of hands-on development and strategic collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve superior technical outcomes. The role requires availability for meetings and communication during the hours of 9am - 5pm PST.

Responsibilities

- Develop sophisticated, responsive, and functional websites, ensuring alignment with design comps and industry standards.

- Ensure high-performance and maintainability across all assigned projects.

- Build and optimize websites for maximum speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility, while troubleshooting complex technical issues as they arise.

- Conduct thorough quality assurance checks, incorporating rigorous testing methods to maintain high-quality outputs.

- Execute analytics setup and integration, ensuring robust Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager implementations are in place.

- Ensure websites adhere to WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards.

- Collaborate with digital producer, UX/UI designers, and Creative leads to identify strategic opportunities and cost-effective web development approaches.

- Manage individual project workload effectively, delivering on time and within budget, while requiring minimal revisions.

- Adhere to brand guidelines, brief requirements, and channel best practices.

Requirements

- High School Diploma/GED + 2 years relevant experience.

- Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), CSS3, HTML5, Vue.js, and Nuxt.js.

- Experience with PHP and MySQL.

- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

- Experience with build tools such as Vite and Webpack.

- Familiarity with AWS infrastructure.

Environment and Physical Requirements

All business-related environments are tobacco-free. Ability to remain in a sitting position for prolonged periods and to read from a computer screen for a full workday (typically 8 hours) is required. Must also be able to travel nationwide as needed for meetings and seminars and able to move work documents weighing up to 40 pounds in and out of office for travel.

Status and Benefits

- Status: W2, Part-time, Temporary.

- Pay Range: $40 - $50 per hour.
