Job Description

That’s No Moon is an independent studio of storytellers and game-makers dedicated to creating narrative-driven experiences. We are seeking a Dialogue Audio Designer who is passionate about advancing audio innovations and vocal design for a AAA title. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing the overall dialogue pipeline and contributing to the development of our immersive story in a new narrative-driven project. They will collaborate with the Audio Director, Dialogue Manager, Narrative Team, and other development disciplines to ensure the delivery of a high-quality audio experience aimed at achieving Game of the Year (GOTY) recognition.

Location: This role will be based in our Playa Vista office in Los Angeles, California.

Responsibilities

• Professional understanding of game voice-over development, from paper to localization.
• Help set best practices and standards for dialogue audio work and validate contributions from all departments.
• Design and oversee character vocalization systems, attending recording sessions to direct content capture.
• Assist with professional dialogue recording sessions and performance capture for project continuity and quality.
• Establish mastering and mixing standards with the Audio Director and execute those standards across the project.
• Review and test dialogue and vocalization content within the game, providing feedback to Narrative and Design teams.
• Address dialogue mix and editorial issues identified during playthroughs and by the QA team.
• Coordinate with Production to adhere to development schedules and identify dependencies.
• Evaluate and communicate risks to Audio Leadership and Production.

Requirements & Skills

• 2+ years of experience working on AAA video game audio.
• Experience with narrative-driven games, features, and systems.
• Proficiency in using Unreal Engine and Wwise.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills for collaboration with groups outside of the audio department.

Additional Information

This is a temporary “Project Hire” position. The duration of this assignment may vary. TNM Project Hire employees are eligible for several benefit plans such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and flexible PTO.

TNM considers various factors when determining base pay, including industry benchmarks, location, experience, and job-specific skills. This role may also be eligible for incentive compensation like equity and profit share. The estimated base pay range is U.S. only: $90,000 - $110,000.

We are currently only considering candidates in North America.
