Practice Makes Progress - Children’s Book

I am seeking a professional children’s book illustrator to bring my picture book, Practice Makes Progress, to life. The story celebrates perseverance, diversity, and creative growth through scenes featuring children from various backgrounds engaging in activities like music, martial arts, painting, performing, and exploring science. The tone throughout is warm and encouraging.

The illustrations should be painterly, textured, and have a softly glowing, cinematic feel, similar to titles like The Wonderful Things You Will Be or Dreamers. I would like the lighting to feel warm and emotionally uplifting, with a consistent visual style and gentle ribbons of light that connect the spreads. The book features diverse children, and expressive, kind faces and natural body language are very important. Specs include an 8x8” square hardcover format, 10 spreads (16x8” each), and a finished cover illustration. Illustrators should be skilled with Procreate or Photoshop, and able to maintain continuity in color palette and lighting. Experience designing characters for young children, integrating text, and producing print-ready files for picture books is required. If we work well together, I may invite you to participate in future books in the series.
