Job Description

We’re seeking a strategic SEO specialist to spearhead the search optimization efforts for a rapidly growing e-commerce business. You’ll be developing comprehensive SEO strategies to dramatically improve search rankings and online visibility for a company with massive growth potential. This role offers the perfect blend of strategic thinking and measurable impact, as you’ll be working with a business that’s committed to climbing from their current position to the top of search results. You’ll collaborate with technical specialists and content creators while having the autonomy to shape the overall SEO direction for thousands of products across multiple lifestyle categories.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies to improve search rankings and online visibility.
• Lead strategic SEO planning initiatives separate from technical implementation.
• Collaborate with technical SEO specialists and content creators to ensure a cohesive optimization approach.
• Focus on strategic direction while coordinating with team members handling technical fixes and content creation.
• Drive the company’s goal of climbing search rankings from current position toward top results.
• Report progress and coordinate efforts with the dedicated marketing manager.
• Contribute to making the company more discoverable online across their expanding product categories.

Requirements

• Proven track record in SEO strategy development and successful implementation.
• Experience working with the Australian market or Australian-based companies is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms, particularly Shopify optimization.
• Ability to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for progress reporting and team coordination.
• Familiarity with SEO tools, analytics platforms, and performance measurement.
• Experience working with large product catalogs and multi-category e-commerce sites is preferred.

Schedule

• Mondays to Fridays, 10:00 pm to 2:00 am, Sydney.
• Minimum 20 hours per week.
• Client timezone: Australian Eastern Time (AEDT/AEST).
• For the first 6 months, they will work the same time as mine. Then, perhaps it can change after that, much earlier.
