Job Description
The Audio Visual Specialist (Technical) is responsible for developing video and digital content for the Communications and Marketing Division, serving various divisions within the California Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). This role includes organizing video content for use by DPR staff and public relations, which may require travel and occasional work during evenings and weekends. The position also mandates the incumbent to be FAA Part 107 licensed to operate drones. This position is located at the Orange Coast District Office in San Clemente, CA, and is designated as Telework Eligible - Remote Centered.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required.
- Must be FAA Part 107 licensed to fly a drone.
- Experience with water/underwater videography is desirable.
- Ability to work up to 1500 hours within a calendar year.
- Application must include a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) that illustrates relevant experience.
- Occasional travel and flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary.
- Must complete and submit the State Examination/Employment Application (STD 678) along with required documents.
Working Conditions
The job entails working in an office environment for logging and editing videos and conducting fieldwork to shoot videos. The specialist is expected to transport various video equipment, including cameras, drones, and lighting gear, which may require driving to remote locations.
