Job Description

We’re looking for a highly skilled Ab Initio Developer to join our data engineering team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex data integration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) solutions using the Ab Initio platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the healthcare domain and a solid understanding of cloud environments, particularly in migrating and managing data pipelines. You will play a crucial role in building robust and scalable data solutions that support critical business intelligence and analytical needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement complex ETL processes and data pipelines using the Ab Initio suite (GDE, Co>Operating System, EME, and other tools).
• Work with large datasets within the healthcare industry, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security, with a strong emphasis on HIPAA compliance and handling of Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Lead the migration and modernization of on-premise data pipelines to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, and data flow diagrams.
• Optimize and tune Ab Initio graphs and plans for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and other developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on best practices for Ab Initio and data warehousing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring timely and effective support for our data applications.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience as an Ab Initio Developer.
• Proven experience working in the healthcare sector, with a deep understanding of healthcare data (e.g., claims, enrollment, provider data) and regulations (HIPAA, HITECH).
• Demonstrable experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including a solid understanding of cloud-native data services and architecture.
• Proficiency in SQL and database concepts, with experience in relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) and NoSQL databases.
• Strong experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting.
• Familiarity with job scheduling tools like Control-M or Autosys.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience with other ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Datastage) is a plus.
• Knowledge of modern data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or data lake architectures.
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices using tools like Jenkins, Git, or Terraform.
• Experience with Ab Initio’s new cloud features and services.

Additional Information

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
