West Coast Crime Files podcast needs a producer.Urgent
Seeking an experienced Podcast Producer to help bring a compelling, research-driven true crime podcast to life. This role involves overseeing production from concept to publication—blending storytelling, sound design, and investigative depth to captivate listeners. Develop and manage the full production cycle for podcast episodes, including pre-production planning, recording, editing, and post-production. Coordinate with host to shape clear, powerful narratives grounded in accurate and ethical true crime reporting. Oversee interviews, field recordings, and archival audio sourcing. Handle technical tasks such as audio cleanup, mixing, leveling, and quality control prior to release. Manage production calendars, track deadlines, and maintain transparent communication. Collaborate on promotional clips, trailers, and episode releases. Ensure content aligns with legal, ethical, and journalistic standards—particularly regarding victim sensitivity and case accuracy. 3+ years of podcast production or equivalent audio storytelling experience required. Strong proficiency with audio editing software and demonstrated experience producing narrative or documentary-style podcasts, preferably in the true crime or investigative genre. Excellent organizational and communication skills needed, and knowledge of digital publishing platforms and RSS feed management is a plus. A background in journalism, criminal justice, or psychology is a strong plus. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, ethically grounded, and passionate about crafting immersive, responsible and victim-first true crime narratives with both technical and editorial expertise.
