Job Description

This role will support the 2D graphics development within the Global Visual Merchandising team, reporting to the Senior Art Director - Brand 2D. The focus is on translating new product launches and creative campaigns into physical spaces and customer experiences, directing the evolution of seasonal graphics, and cascading direction to regional teams for execution. The Art Director – Global 2D VM (temp - perm) will handle a mix of creative graphic design, updating design systems, developing guidelines, and print production. The team values collaboration, collegiality, and a can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years experience in a VM 2D design or related creative role (mid to senior level designers will be considered)
• Beauty background strongly preferred, particularly in prestige/luxury
• Degree preferred (BA/BFA in Graphic Design or Environmental Design) or equivalent work experience in related areas
• Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Strong portfolio with print design and print production experience, especially in large formats
• Comprehensive understanding of composition, layout principles, and messaging hierarchies
• Strong understanding of branding and graphic storytelling in retail
• Understanding of 3D dimensional structures and their relationship to 2D graphics
• Knowledge of retailer and vendor specifications, technical drawings, and planograms
• Ability to articulate design system nuances through guidelines
• High taste level with attention to detail and quality execution
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Able to receive feedback gracefully and apply it effectively
• Strong time management skills and able to juggle multiple projects
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Able to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong communication skills to articulate ideas clearly
• Awareness of current visual, industry, and cultural trends
• Passionate and engaged in the work and industry
• Comfortable using MS Office/Teams/Zoom/Asana
• Willing to work from the Midtown Manhattan NYC office as needed
• Experience with 3D software, image retouching, or video editing a plus but not required
