Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer with 12+ years of hands-on experience in data modeling, visualization, and analytics. The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise Power BI solutions, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, data engineers, and leadership to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Max Bill Rate: $60/hour in which $10 will be payroll and $55 will be 1099/W2-Contract

Work Location: Irving, TX

Working Mode: Hybrid - 3 days onsite/2 days remote

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-level Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Develop data models, DAX calculations, and Power Query transformations for optimized performance.
• Integrate data from SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Excel, SharePoint, and APIs.
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage Power BI service workspaces and datasets.
• Collaborate with business users to translate requirements into scalable BI solutions.
• Optimize data refresh, report performance, and governance processes.
• Develop documentation, data dictionaries, and training materials for end-users.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with data governance and security standards.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to BI architecture strategy and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 12+ years of total IT experience, with 8+ years focused on Power BI and Microsoft BI stack.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query (M language).
• Strong expertise in SQL Server / Azure SQL, ETL processes, and data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake).
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or Data Lake.
• Excellent understanding of data warehousing, data visualization principles, and BI governance.
• Experience integrating Power BI with SharePoint, Dynamics 365, PowerApps, and Power Automate.
• Proven ability to lead large-scale Power BI deployments and manage user adoption.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Power BI and embedding Power BI reports in web apps.
• Knowledge of Azure Machine Learning, Fabric, or Databricks integration.
• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or Azure Data Engineer (DP-203).
