Job Description

This is a paid freelance, remote position.
CBR is the #1 entertainment website and publishes up-to-the-minute news on blockbuster movies, TV shows, video games, comic books, music, and other forms of entertainment.

Our team is looking for an eager and talented Custom Image Editor to provide vibrant and eye-catching images to showcase in our articles, social media, and other publishing platforms. The selected candidate must have great image manipulation skills and experience beyond just resizing and a keen eye for creative thumbnails/featured images.

Responsibilities

• Produce 20–30 branded images daily for CBR’s articles, thumbnails, and social media platforms.
• Design bold, eye-catching visuals that reflect CBR’s tone and pop-culture voice.
• Ensure all graphics follow brand and editorial style guidelines for consistency across platforms.
• Collaborate with editors and writers to match visuals with stories and headlines.
• Optimize assets for web and social performance (sizes, formats, load times).
• Maintain an organized asset library and meet daily publishing deadlines.
• Stay current on entertainment and visual trends to keep designs fresh and engaging.

Experience and Skills

• 2+ years of working experience with Photoshop or Illustrator.
• Knowledge of anime and manga.
• Speedy editing skills and good sourcing instincts.
• Skillful at blending and retouching images, fan artwork, and photos.
