Job Description

We are seeking an established and experienced Art Dealer either in the Los Angeles area or remotely to join or assist in acquiring new clients and selling artwork. The ideal candidate will already possess a healthy database of buyers, clients, and galleries that would be interested in purchasing our unique style of artwork. As an Art Dealer, you will be responsible for using your networking skills to move the work of several talented artists that our gallery represents. This Freelance Art Dealer position is commission-based, with a 20% standard commission rate and a negotiable higher rate for any sale over $10,000. We need someone with a bank of established clients and collectors that they can reach out to and offer our eccentric art.

Requirements

• The ability to build, maintain, and develop a strong network of contacts, including buyers, collectors, curators, and critics.
• A healthy understanding of different art forms, periods, and artists to identify, evaluate, and contextualize artworks.
• Good research and analytical skills, marketing savvy.
• Strong verbal and listening skills to articulate the value and uniqueness of our artwork to a diverse range of clients.
• A friendly attitude and focus on client satisfaction to build long-term relationships and encourage repeat business.
• The ability to think critically and solve problems to navigate the complexities of the art market.
• An entrepreneurial mindset to adapt to changes in taste and value and to find innovative ways to present and sell our art.

Additional Information

We have many diverse and unique artists, ranging from oil paintings to sculpture to photography to jewelry. Our gallery focuses on outsider/Americana folk/sideshow contemporary art. We are based in New Orleans, with several local artists and several national artists as well. Many travelers, tourists, and locals alike that visit us often say they have never seen such a unique art gallery. We are simply looking for someone who can help us find more clients with a taste for our style!

Pay: $2,000.00 - $10,000.00 per month
