Job Description
Rescue is a full-service marketing agency focused on researching, developing, and implementing positive social change campaigns in public health. We provide research, strategy, creative, production, web, traditional media, social media, policy change, youth engagement, and experiential marketing services to government, non-profit, and healthcare clients across over 35 states and provinces, as well as to federal government agencies. We are looking for a dynamic, high-performing Freelance Web Developer II to lead the development and delivery of complex and accessible web applications that meet client expectations. This role requires adherence to best practices, hands-on development, and strategic collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve superior technical outcomes. This position is remote and may be located anywhere in the United States, requiring availability for meetings and communication during the hours of 9am - 5pm PST.
Responsibilities
Develops sophisticated, responsive, and functional websites, ensuring alignment with design comps and industry standards. Ensures high-performance and maintainability across all assigned projects. Builds and optimizes websites for maximum speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility while troubleshooting complex technical issues. Conducts thorough quality assurance checks and integrates analytics setup, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. Ensures websites comply with WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards and implements innovative technologies to drive project success from conception to deployment. Adheres to best practices in development and project execution, while working with Figma design comps and prototypes.
Strategic collaboration includes identifying opportunities for cost-effective web development with the digital producer, UX/UI designers, and Creative leads, estimating project budgets and timelines, and partnering with UI/UX teams. Coordinates with QA teams to ensure deliverables meet standards. Individual workload management involves self-managing projects to deliver on time and within budget, effectively communicating with the digital producer, raising concerns regarding scope, and maintaining adherence to brand guidelines.
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience. Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), CSS3, HTML5, Vue.js, and Nuxt.js, as well as PHP and MySQL. Experience with version control (Git) and build tools such as Vite and Webpack. Familiarity with AWS infrastructure is also required.
Additional Information
Status: W2, Part-time, Temporary
Pay Range: $40 - $50 per hour

Travel: None required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to remain in a seated position for long periods, read from screens, and travel nationwide as needed.
