Rust Agent Engineer (Telemetry Sensor Feature)

We are Takal Capital LLC and are seeking a Senior Rust Engineer to join our small founding team for the Sentrafort project, a plug-and-protect cybersecurity platform for small businesses and freelancers. The role involves building a core telemetry sensor in Rust—a lightweight, cross-platform agent that captures process, file, and network events using technologies like eBPF and ETW, and streams these for our AI security engine. Your work will involve OS-native sensors, Protobuf serialization, secure telemetry with YARA and gRPC, anti-tamper features, and packaging for easy installation. You’ll also focus on performance optimization and ensuring kernel portability, collaborating closely with our team as we scale rapidly. Candidates should have at least 3 years of production Rust experience (async/Tokio, lifetimes, and a systems GitHub portfolio), a deep understanding of OS internals, and experience with security tools like YARA and mTLS/gRPC. Knowledge of CO-RE eBPF and cross-platform build tools is a plus. The role is fully remote and contract-to-hire, as we aim to deliver straightforward, AI-powered security with minimal system impact.
