Job Description

Halogen Engineering Group is looking for a Software Engineer who will be part of a project responsible for developing and maintaining system management infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment. The successful candidate will design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based on documented requirements. Responsibilities include processing intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, real-time systems, data repositories, and more. The Engineer will work individually or as part of a team, reviewing and testing software components and resolving software problem reports. The role requires utilization of software development and design methodologies, providing input on system design, and requirements analysis.

Requirements

• Experience using the Linux CLI
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python)
• Experience developing software solutions using programming languages such as Python and Rust in a Linux environment
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Experience with automation frameworks including Ansible
• Experience performing troubleshooting and debugging issues in an operational system
• Experience with CI/CD principles and tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins
• Experience with Git Source Control System

Desired Skills

• Familiar with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools such as Netbox
• Familiar with Observability and Analytics platforms such as Splunk
• Familiar with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions such as Keycloak
• Familiar with Secret Management tools such as HashiCorp Vault
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
• Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university
• OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus two (2) years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar contracts
• OR Four (4) years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar contracts

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: The projected compensation range for this position is $126K to $151K (annualized USD), determined by various factors including location and the individual’s education and experience.
