Job Description:

The Networks of Mid-Missouri is seeking a part-time MORNING VIDEOGRAPHER to join their vibrant team of journalists. The candidate will help grow the station’s news product while advancing their own career. Responsibilities include shooting video, conducting interviews, operating a backpack live unit, and using multimedia tools to gather content for nightly newscasts, the news website, and other online platforms. The candidate should thrive in a research-driven news environment that emphasizes source cultivation, enterprise reporting, and breaking news. Flexibility to engage in beat reporting, producing, web editing, etc., is required. Working hours are Monday-Friday from 4-9 am.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate must possess a good eye for shooting, a strong understanding of broadcast video equipment (including editing software), and superior news judgment. An appreciation for elements that enhance the viewability of live television newscasts is essential. The ability to work well under pressure, collaborate with others, and meet strict deadlines is required. This is a part-time position, including weekend work, with flexibility needed. A college degree in journalism, communication, or a related field is preferred, along with previous newsroom experience as a plus. The role involves operating a company or personal vehicle for business purposes, necessitating a valid Missouri driver’s license, as well as passing a drug test and background check.
