Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, data modeling, and data engineering, with hands-on experience in AWS cloud services, Python programming, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). You’ll play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions across the organization. Collaborating with cross-functional teams within Electric Delivery and IT, you will build analytics solutions for Electric Operations (Transmission, Substation, and Distribution), identifying trends and patterns to predict the probability of asset failure and make informed decisions on asset management.

Requirements

Job Specific Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
• 0-2 years of knowledge and experience with data mining techniques, data modeling, statistical analysis, and algorithms.
• 0-2 years of experience with query languages (SQL) and developing and maintaining ETL workflows using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• 0-2 years of experience leveraging AWS services to deploy scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions.
• 0-2 years of experience in Python coding.
• Must be detail-oriented and have experience working with large datasets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to convey technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Results-oriented, data-driven, and self-starter.
• Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Advanced degree, e.g., Master’s Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
• Knowledge of OSI PI products.
• Experience with visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau.
• Experience in web development and SharePoint.
• Some knowledge of electric/gas transmission and distribution systems.
