Job Description
This is a remote position. The work type is flexible, requiring 20 hours per week. The candidate must be available during New Zealand business hours. We’re looking for a skilled SEO Specialist to join our growing team and take the lead in resolving technical SEO issues affecting site performance. This role is ideal for someone with a solid understanding of SEO best practices and hands-on experience in diagnosing and fixing 404 errors, canonical issues, and duplicate tagging. You’ll work closely with our digital and e-commerce teams to ensure the website is fully optimized for search engines and provides a seamless user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit the website to identify 404 errors, canonical tag conflicts, and duplicate content issues.
- Implement fixes for canonical/double tagging, ensuring all URLs are properly indexed and structured.
- Collaborate with developers and content teams to resolve on-page and technical SEO concerns.
- Monitor site performance through Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and SEO tools (e.g., Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush).
- Maintain accurate site indexing and help improve crawl efficiency.
- Recommend and execute strategies to prevent recurring SEO issues.
- Provide regular SEO reports and progress updates.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as an SEO Specialist, Technical SEO Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of 404 management, canonicalization, and duplicate content resolution.
- Proficiency in using SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and SEMrush.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic web structure preferred.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote setup.
