Job Description

This is a remote position.

We are looking for a senior-level Linux/DevOps Engineer to manage and optimize Linux infrastructure, automate operations, and drive modernization initiatives. This is an execution-focused role — hands-on, technically empowered, and highly collaborative, without people management responsibilities.

Job Title: Sr. Linux/DevOps Engineer

Location: REMOTE

Contract: Minimum 6 Months

Responsibilities:

• Linux Administration – Maintain, optimize, and secure Linux systems (RHEL 8/9); manage upgrades, migrations, and core stack components (Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, Nginx)
• Automation & IaC – Develop Ansible playbooks and scripts (Python, Bash) for system automation, maintenance, and monitoring
• DevOps & CI/CD – Build and enhance Jenkins pipelines, integrate new CI/CD tools, and embed DevOps practices across teams
• Containerization – Deploy and manage Docker and Kubernetes environments; implement orchestration and security best practices
• Other Duties – Support additional infrastructure and DevOps initiatives as needed

Requirements

• Linux Administration – 7+ years hands-on experience in enterprise environments; advanced patching, configuration, and troubleshooting skills
• Database & Middleware – Experience with Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, and Nginx
• Automation & Scripting – Proficiency in Ansible, Bash, and Python
• CI/CD & DevOps Tools – Hands-on experience with Jenkins pipeline development and CI/CD principles
• Containerization & Orchestration – Advanced skills in Docker and Kubernetes deployment, orchestration, and security
• Virtualization – Familiarity with VMware administration (preferred)
• Security – Strong understanding of Linux and DevOps security best practices (preferred)
• Soft Skills – Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to make sound technical decisions; excellent documentation skills; effective communication and collaboration skills; self-motivated learner; team player who thrives in a collaborative, execution-focused environment
