Job Description

Founded in 2001, Resident Advisor (RA) is one of the world’s longest-running music media brands and a cornerstone of the dance, electronic, and DJ ecosystem. The site’s audience of over 6 million monthly users is attracted by news, editorial content, club listings, ticketing, RA-branded events, original films, and a weekly mix series.

RA is looking for a passionate individual about electronic music culture and editorial content to represent local communities within our Content team while collaborating with our International department. As a Local Content Creator, you will create original short-form content and cover stories within North America (USA, Canada, & Mexico) for RA’s social channels, write local news, and help build community-focused content for local coverage of community scenes. You will also develop new content offerings for city pages and represent RA locally during key partnership moments.

Responsibilities

• Produce 2 pieces of social media video content a month for various digital platforms.
• Conduct research and stay updated on emerging trends in the local scene (SF, LA, San Diego).
• Write 2 local news stories per week focusing on key cities (LA, SF, Detroit, Toronto, Mexico City, etc.).
• Grow RA’s audience and profile in key cities in North America.
• Represent RA at events and partnerships, serving as a liaison for the community of artists, partners, and platforms.
• Write compelling social copy for different digital platforms.

Requirements

• At least two years of self-shooting (Sony, Panasonic, etc.) and video editing experience (Adobe Premiere Pro/CapCut) with a focus on social media.
• Experience leading shoots and overseeing productions from concept to delivery within deadlines.
• Demonstrable social media experience on key platforms, such as TikTok and Instagram.
• Experience with script writing, voiceover narration, and presenting on camera.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant and popular electronic music artists, labels, venues, promoters, and events.
• Experience working across time zones is preferable.
