Job Description

Sofar Sounds is seeking a Freelance Local Producer to curate, produce, and promote concerts and live events in designated cities. As a Local Producer, you will act as a brand ambassador for Sofar, creating and executing local marketing initiatives, selling sponsorships, and expanding the community’s footprint. The role requires strong business acumen, an awareness of cultural trends, and the ability to organize fantastic live events with local performers and venues. While this role is hybrid, candidates must be based in the designated city.

Requirements

• Deep connections to your local scene and active involvement in building community.
• 3-5 years of experience in live event curation, production, and promotions.
• Experience selling event sponsorships or marketing activations, preferably in live events or experiential marketing.
• Confidence in pitching ideas and a proven track record of closing partnership deals.
• Strong understanding of your city’s neighborhoods and leisure activities.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills with community organizations, media partners, and local businesses.
• Ability to promote and build strategic alliances to increase ticket sales.
• Professionalism and ownership in work, ensuring quality experiences for all stakeholders.
• Strong time management skills and clear communication abilities.
• Able to work autonomously while maintaining connection with the broader organization.

Compensation

Producers earn commission-based pay on a per-show basis. Compensation varies based on ticket prices, show volume, and event performance, ranging from $100-$500+ per event.
