Job Description

At Intuit, Product designers create meaningful experiences that put the latest technology to work helping our customers save time and money. They use AI, data, and deep customer empathy along with diverse craft skills to design remarkable experiences for customers.

Join the QuickBooks Payments team as a Senior Content Designer to lead content strategy for high-impact AR (Accounts Receivable) features tailored for small businesses. In this role, you will partner with lead designers on initiatives, elevate the content craft on our team, and create scalable content frameworks to drive maximum impact across the end-to-end user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Write clear and engaging user interface text and Help content for web, desktop and mobile applications.
  • Serve as experts and mentors in user assistance trends, customer learning, and communication voice in offerings, marketing, and support.
  • Collaborate with user researchers, UI designers, and product managers to understand customer needs, set content goals, and iterate until those goals are met.
  • Work closely with developers and QA, participating in an Agile development cycle.
  • Lead the content-design process for writing projects, driving decisions, creating schedules, and tracking issues.
  • Validate deliverables through content reviews, usability testing observations, and live customer feedback responses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, a scientific or engineering field, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a technical writer or content developer.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, mastery of English language, grammar, structure, and punctuation.
  • Work samples demonstrating an engaging, conversational tone that instills confidence in the target audience.
  • Comfort coding HTML, XML, and CSS in a text editor; experience editing text within developer code.
  • Skill in using Help content publication programs such as MadCap Flare or Adobe RoboHelp to create single-source content.
  • Solid background using source control software such as Perforce.
  • Experience maintaining a local development environment for a Java-based application.
  • Ability to create annotated screen shots to illustrate key points; experience writing scripts for instructional videos or tutorials.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong project management skills with the capability to function as both project leader and individual contributor.
