Job Description

Position Title: Audio Engineer

Reports To: Technical Director

Work Schedule: Flexible work schedule based around TACAW’s performance calendar

Status: $35/hour

The Arts Campus at Willits is looking for experienced Audio Engineers. As one of TACAW’s team of Audio Engineers, you will be responsible for overseeing talent load in, sound check, mixing of the live performances, and strike.

Responsibilities

1. Set up audio equipment at live events in many different settings, from music concerts to lectures.

2. Digest artists briefs and stage plots to select the appropriate sound and mixing equipment for the project.

3. Communicate and coordinate with staff members to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed to specifications.

4. Test microphones and other equipment for volume, tone and clarity.

5. Edit, mix, and manipulate recorded and live sound.

6. Test and troubleshoot equipment regularly.

Requirements

1. Minimum 1 year of experience in audio mixing.

2. Certificate in audio technology or similar preferred.

3. Superb ear for sound.

4. Ability to work under pressure and stay calm when things go wrong.

5. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

6. Professional self-starter with a growth mindset.

7. Able to lift at least 50 pounds and perform in a relatively loud work environment.

8. Candidates must be able to pass a background check.
