Media Shack LLC builds custom online corporate stores for companies and organizations that need cohesive, high-quality branded merchandise. A major part of our growth comes from continually improving our online platform and creating innovative, streamlined user experiences.

We’re looking to add a Web Designer / Web Engineer who specializes in e-commerce user experience and backend functionality. If you love building clean, intuitive online shopping flows—and enjoy improving systems behind the scenes—you’ll be a great fit.

The ideal candidate is both creative and technical: someone who can design efficient user interfaces AND work on the backend that powers our online corporate stores. This role focuses heavily on improving site functionality, optimizing checkout flows, building new platform features, and maintaining a reliable, scalable experience for our clients and their users.

This is a 100% remote role.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve online corporate stores and custom shopping experiences.
• Develop and maintain backend systems that support store functionality, product customization, cart behavior, permissions, workflows, etc.
• Collaborate with our internal team to create innovative features and improve overall UX.
• Ensure sites load quickly, function smoothly, and remain mobile friendly.
• Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues, and integration challenges.
• Optimize the user journey from landing page → product selection → checkout.
• Maintain consistent brand guidelines across client stores.
• Support ongoing improvements to our internal tools, automation, and platform capabilities.

Requirements

• 2+ years experience in web design or web engineering (preferred e-commerce or custom platform work).
• Strong understanding of user experience, online shopping workflows, and site navigation best practices.
• Experience with modern web development tools (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and backend frameworks or platforms.
• Ability to integrate or build custom features that enhance functionality.
• Experience with CMS or e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, custom systems, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple projects.
