Job Description

This is a remote position. UMGC requires a MuleSoft Developer with senior experience to perform software development, support, and testing services in a remote work environment. This position will work with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, lead engineer, AVP of Integrations and Architecture, and the Sprint team to provide services to the Integrations Team. Responsibilities include:

• Provide approaches and strategies for challenging solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to enterprise architects.
• Contribute to and advance the integrations strategy.
• Develop foundational elements to support integration implementation.
• Mentor team members and offshore contractors on best practices.
• Deliver solutions meeting acceptance criteria for assigned stories.
• Provide expertise and guidance on best practices and development techniques within the MuleSoft Platform.
• Resolve development challenges and issues.
• Create reusable assets along with supporting documentation.
• Keep the Sprint team informed about task progress and actively participate in agile ceremonies.
• Review software development practices and suggest improvements.
• Assist in deployment and support of the CloudHub environment.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• MuleSoft Certified Developer.
• 3-6 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with RESTful web services.
• Experience in the entire software development lifecycle.
• Expertise in cloud computing, API integration, cloud messaging, knowledge of highly scalable distributed systems.
• Experience with Java, RAML, and JSON.
• Experience with MuleSoft DataWeave.
• Experience using Maven.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Proficient in writing SQL queries and stored procedures for SQL Server and/or Oracle.
• Understanding of Queuing solutions.
• Familiarity with technologies like HTML, CSS, AJAX, Bootstrap, JSON, Java, Javascript, Cold Fusion, relational databases, Web Services, XML.
• Experience with Source Control systems like Team Foundation Server.
• Knowledge of Content Management Systems (Adobe and CommonSpot is a plus).
• Understanding of higher education practices and technologies.
• Familiarity with integrations connecting major platforms such as LMS (D2L), SIS (PeopleSoft), CRM (Salesforce), ERP (Workday), and AEM.
• Knowledge of best practices in coding, architecture, and web development.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Able to keep up with new business and technical concepts and work with minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude and understanding of Agile Frameworks (Kanban/Scrum).
• Understanding of the software development life cycle.

Additional Information

Participates in code, environment, and design reviews, Agile practices across teams, and collaborates with clients and internal teams to create web interfaces and solutions. Provides on-call support for emergencies and engages in deployment tasks including code deployment, data migration, and verification testing.
