Job Description

ImageX has an opportunity for a freelance Senior UX/UI Designer who is an exceptional communicator and presenter with strong consulting instincts, attention to detail, and a passion for high-quality, user-centered design. This role is client-facing and consultative, focusing on framing problems, facilitating discovery and testing, presenting recommendations, and helping unblock teams. The position is remote with variable hours based on project requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Senior-level UX designer with solid UI craft
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Consulting mindset
• Skilled facilitator of discovery sessions and workshops
• Proficient in senior UX craft including end-to-end flows, wireframes, prototypes, and accessibility
• Research proficiency with the ability to plan and run studies
• Experience with tools like Figma, Adobe CC, and familiarity with testing/IA platforms
• Applied AI knowledge
• Experience mentoring junior team members is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Leading client workshops (discovery, prioritization, user testing) and driving decisions
• Presenting work persuasively to executives and cross-functional teams
• Planning and conducting research (interviews, usability tests, surveys, heuristic and IA evaluations)
• Designing information architecture (navigation, sitemaps, taxonomy/labeling) and conducting validations
• Creating flows, wireframes, and prototypes to explore interactions and mitigate risks
• Defining and extending design systems with accessibility in mind
• Partnering with Project Managers and Engineering to refine scope and deliver high-quality experiences
• Applying AI tools responsibly to enhance research synthesis and design processes
• Measuring impact using agreed success criteria (e.g., task success, CSAT, conversion, support deflection)

Compensation

Target Hourly Rate Range: $75.00-$85.00/hour CAD, based on benchmarking for our Vancouver location, subject to change based on location and experience.

Pay Equity

Our focus is ensuring fair compensation based on the unique skills and experience of each team member, aligning with defined pay ranges established through extensive market research. Location within a Province or Territory influences compensation, even for remote positions, taking into account cost of living and market standards.
