2D Animator is needed in United States.

The Urban Forest Institute (UFI) is seeking a 2D animator to help create a series of accessible and educational videos about proper planting and tree care. Our goal is to educate growers, tree care professionals, and communities on best practices to ensure the longevity and health of urban trees. Over the next ten months, we aim to produce three 8-10 minute videos to be distributed widely across YouTube, industry networks, nonprofits, and government organizations. Some video segments will feature only animation, others will use a split screen of animation and video, and in some cases, animation will overlay live video footage. We require a clean, illustrative animation style that feels artisanal and hand-drawn—similar to a whiteboard or educational explainer style—emphasizing dynamics and a sense of motion. We prefer a frame-by-frame 2D animation look rather than a stock or computer-generated feel. The final videos should ideally be in 4K, with editing done in Adobe Premiere and After Effects. Our team will provide detailed descriptions and sample illustrations for each animation segment. We are excited to work with an animator passionate about communicating important ecological information and making a positive impact on urban environments.
