Cinematographer and VFX Artist for Green-Screen Action Painting Performance in Antwerp [Urgent]
Cinematographer is needed in Antwerp, Belgium.
I’m Hallie Hart, an American action painter based between NYC and Antwerp. I’m working in Antwerp, developing a cinematic green-screen performance that will be transformed through 3D/VFX into a monumental, architectural painting sequence. In the finished image, I’ll appear to move across wide structural beams and catwalks — walking, bending, running, and throwing paint — suspended high above a massive canvas inside a vast, cathedral-scale industrial space. During filming, all beams and catwalks will be built at a safe, low height, with all extreme elevation, depth, and scale created digitally in post-production.
The live-action shoot will focus on intensely physical, grounded detail: hands in paint, paint flying, skin, breath, clothing, facial expression, strain, and full-body movement. These tactile close-ups will be intercut and composited with wide VFX shots where the environment becomes enormous and the act of painting feels suspended in space. The contrast between raw physical reality and epic digital scale is central to the piece.
The performance will also include a spoken narrative by me, woven into the visual action, reflecting on why I paint with my body, how I came to this work, and what it means to create at risk and at scale. The final result will be a short, high-impact cinematic proof of concept designed to function as:
• a standalone film piece
• a PR and brand calling card
• and the foundation for a future large-scale cultural installation and live performance
I’m open to working in any of the following structures:
• a hybrid filmmaker / VFX artist who can handle both live-action and 3D/VFX
• a cinematographer paired with a remote 3D/VFX artist
• or a pre-existing cinematography + VFX team
For the live-action side, the shoot involves controlled green-screen filming with close-ups of hands, paint, face, and body to retain full physical realism. For the VFX side, the performer will be placed into a monumental architectural environment with beams, height, depth, and digitally extended paint movement from elevated structures.
The visual style is cinematic and architectural, not sci-fi or fantasy. Think cathedral-scale space, clean structure, dramatic light, real human presence. The environment should feel massive and physical, with weight, altitude, and atmosphere. Paint must feel authentic in motion and texture, even when simulated. The overall tone is epic, minimal, and powerful, closer to high-end art film or luxury brand visuals than to surreal or cartoon VFX.
If you specialize in cinematography, 3D/VFX, or both, and enjoy collaborating across disciplines, I’d love to hear from you and discuss scope, timing, and fit.
Reach out, it’s going to be a fantastic project!
